Getting Started
Which vehicle is right for me?
You should choose your vehicle based on how you plan to use it. Many new riders will love the light weight, low cost and super efficient Agility, People and Sento models, none of which require a motorcycle licence. For the ultimate in green, the a2b electric moped might be ideal - you can carry surprising amounts of stuff with the optional pannier bags. The full suspension and motor gives you the ability to tackle rough NYC streets or ride over a bridge without breaking a sweat - which makes it ideal for professionals who can't change and shower at work.
If you want something with true '5 boro' capability or even to take out of town, Kymco has a full range of quality scooters up to 500cc!
Do I need a motorcycle license?
In New York State, any two wheeled motorized vehicle that can go faster than 30mph is a motorcycle, REGARDLESS OF ENGINE SIZE. 50cc KYMCO models have speed restrictors that allow them to be registered as 'B' plate vehicles which do not require a motorcycle license to operate
For NY residents, we have a partnership with a local driving school where you easily can get your motorcycle license on their scooter in one day. Click on the following links for details on licensing in NY, NJ and CT. The Sento 50, People 50, and the Agilty 50 do not require motorcycle licenses, while all Kymco products over 50cc will require a motorcycle license to operate legally in NY.
The Ultramotor A2B is a bicycle in all aspects of both federal and NYS law. No license, insurance, plate or registration is required, and you can legally ride them in the bike lanes and paths over the bridges and throughout the city. The Zero X is an off-road use only motorcycle that cannot, in standard form, be ridden legally on public streets. This one is for the trails or back yard, but silently, so your neighbors will never know!
How can I pay?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Amex. We also accept checks and cash, and have a variety of financing plans available. Check with our sales department for current financing options.
Please stop by Kymco Brooklyn or Kymco Manhattan to see all the possibilities!
